Manning Family Children’s Hospital (New Orleans) is planning to expand the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) on its main campus in New Orleans, according to a news release.

The Level 4 NICU will increase the hospital’s capacity from 35 to 60 beds, tripling the square footage of the existing NICU. The expansion will feature sensory-optimized patient care rooms, integrated procedural spaces, family transition rooms, and an advanced academic space.

Construction is expected to begin this spring and be completed in 2027.

The project team includes Kennedy Kraft Architects (New Orleans) and Woodward Design+Build (general contractor; New Orleans).
