McLaren Bay Region Hospital (Bay City, Mich.) has started construction on McLaren Bay West, a $50 million medical campus on the westside of Bay City, according to abc12.com.

Located on the site of the former McLaren Bay Special Care hospital, the project comprises a freestanding emergency department (ED) with lab and imaging, as well as a 2-story, 50,000-square-foot medical office building (MOB). Specialty services at the MOB will include the hospital’s Orthopedic Center of Excellence.

The MOB is expected to open by spring 2026, with the ED following in summer 2027.
