McLaren Health Care and Michigan State University recently broke ground on University Corporate Research Park,  a new $450 million healthcare campus to be built adjacent to the university in South Lansing, Mich.

The first part of the multiphase project will be the acute care hospital portion of the project. Design and construction on the campus’s medical services building and cancer center will begin within the next year.

The campus will house a 240-bed hospital, cancer center, medical services building, and other facilities to support healthcare delivery, educational opportunities, and medical research.

According to the press release, the new healthcare campus will be developed on land purchased from the MSU Foundation in its University Corporate Research Park.

The current estimated timeline to open the facilities is early 2022.

The project team includes Kramer Management Group (owner’s representative), Barton Malow/Christman Joint Venture (construction manager), Gresham Smith and Harley Ellis Devereaux (HED) (architects), Pace Howe Design (interior designer), C2AE (off-site civil consultant), PEA Inc. (on-site civil engineer), IMEG (technology consultant and medical equipment planner), Ghafari (scheduling consultant), Limbach Mechanical (mechanical design assistant), and Shaw Electric (electrical design assistant).
