Medical City Dallas Begins Addition, Wraps Up Expansion

Medical City Dallas has completed a master-planned vertical expansion which includes a seven-story, 206,400-square-foot vertical addition and a 65,200-square-foot interior renovation project, completed in 27 months, in Dallas.

The construction team of Brasfield & Gorrie added 60 patient rooms and 32 intensive care unit rooms as well as shell space for future growth. Interior renovations upgraded the existing surgery, medical oncology, operating rooms, surgical oncology, stem cell, emergency department and clinical decision unit spaces.

In addition, the hospital has started work on a 161,500-square-foot vertical expansion of Care Tower D to house Medical City’s new Women’s Hospital. The additional five floors will include private patient rooms, labor and delivery, C-section operating rooms, Level 4 neonatal intensive care, women’s VIP suites, antepartum rooms, and more.

Cobstruction on the new Women’s Hospital is expected to be completed in spring 2018.
