Montgomery Area Mental Health Authority (Montgomery, Ala.) is converting a former insurance building into a diversion center for mental health in Montgomery, according to an article in WSFA.

The project will offer treatment for individuals seeking care for an acute mental health crisis with services administered 24/7.

Funded by an $18 million grant, the facility will house 10 observation beds for patients who can spend up to 23 hours at the facility and 16 beds for patients who can stay for up to seven days.
