Nonprofit Henry Ford Health System (Detroit) has formed a joint venture with Acadia Healthcare Company, a standalone behavioral healthcare company (Franklin, Tenn.), to build a new behavioral health hospital in Detroit, according to an article in Fierce Healthcare.

The 192-bed inpatient facility will be situated on a parcel of land already owned by Henry Ford Health and will provide comprehensive inpatient treatment for adults, seniors, and adolescents. The hospital will also serve as an academic site for inpatient psychiatry residents, medical students, nurses, and other healthcare professionals as well as a center of excellence for comprehensive inpatient services.

As part of the agreement, Henry Ford will consolidate inpatient services from its Henry Ford Kingswood Hospital (Ferndale, Mich.) and Henry Ford Macomb Hospital – Mt. Clemens (Mt. Clemens, Mich.) facilities to the new hospital.
