Multistate health system Mercy (St. Louis) has filed a letter of intent with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (Jefferson City, Mo.) to build a $650 million acute-care hospital in Wentzville, Mo.

Situated on 60 acres, the 483,000-square-foot project will include 75 beds.

Construction is slated to take approximately 4 years.

It will be the state’s first new acute-care hospital campus built since 2015 when Mercy opened its hospital in Joplin, Mo., following a 2011 tornado.
