The COVID-19 field hospital at the Suburban Collection Showplace convention center in Novi, Mich., has paused operations due to a decrease in the number of coronavirus cases requiring hospitalization in the region, according to an article in Michigan Radio. The convention center housed 16 COVID-19 patients during its time as an alternate care facility.

The facility is ready to receive patients again if the need arises throughout the state. Other alternative care facilities and field hospitals have closed in Southeast Michigan as the number of COVID-19 cases needing hospitalization decreased.
