Mohawk Valley Health System recently began design plans for its new $480 million replacement hospital in Utica, N.Y.

A Certificate of Need application was submitted in November 2017, which required 30 percent of the hospital design be complete. The design process will continue through October 2018.

Construction on the regional healthcare campus project will begin in early 2019 and is expected to be completed in 2022. The new hospital will offer inpatient and outpatient care, emergency services, imaging, surgery, obstetrics, and psychiatric care, among other services.

Project partners include Hammes Co., NBBJ, and Turner Construction Co.
