A replacement facility is being planned for the aging Robley Rex Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center in Louisville, Ky., according to an article in Louisville Courier Journal.

The Department of VA’s new 900,000-square-foot hospital will include 104 beds, two parking garages and a more than 40,000-square-foot utility plant.

Walsh-Turner Joint Venture (Columbus, Ohio) will build the project under an $840 million Army contract.

Groundbreaking is slated for this fall, and construction is expected to be completed in 2025.
