Brown University Health (Providence, R.I.) and Newport Hospital in Newport, R.I., unveiled the new James P. Nolan, MD and Peggy Nolan Adolescent Behavioral Health Unit at the hospital, according to a news release.
Developed in partnership with Bradley Hospital, a teaching hospital in Riverside, R.I., the eight-bed specialized unit provides short-term stabilization, assessment, and treatment for patients ages 12-18. Amenities include group therapy spaces, activity rooms, and an enclosed outdoor area.
The unit is expected to begin treating patients in the first quarter of 2026.
