The University of Kansas Medical Center opened a 170,000-square-foot facility in July. The $82-million Health Education Building will serve as the primary teaching facility for the KU Schools of Medicine, Nursing and Health Professions, and it will feature simulation technology and flexible learning spaces with inter-professional education in mind.

Helix, a Kansas City-based architecture firm, and CO Architects, a Los Angeles-based architecture firm, served as the design team on the project. McCownGordon was the project’s general contractor.
