Integrated academic healthcare system NewYork-Presbyterian (New York) has opened the NewYork-Presbyterian Alexandra Cohen Hospital for Women and Newborns in New York.

Located on the top six floors of the NewYork-Presbyterian David H. Koch Center, the 246,500-square-foot project nearly triples the space currently available for the care of pregnant women and newborns at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center (New York). The hospital features 75 private antepartum and postpartum rooms; a 60 private-bed Level IV neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) that also offers private rooms and a dedicated MRI and operating room located with the unit; labor and delivery unit with individual triage rooms; 16 birthing rooms; and tubs for labor pain management.

The project team comprises HOK (interior design; New York) and Ballinger (interior design and medical architecture; Philadelphia).
