Northwell Health To Modernize New York Hospital

The South Shore University Hospital project will include a 45,560-square-foot women and infants center and a $441 million patient pavilion.

Non-profit integrated healthcare network Northwell Health (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) will invest more than $500 million to modernize and expand South Shore University Hospital, formerly Southside Hospital, in Bay Shore, N.Y., according to an article in Patch.

Included in the transformation is a new $71 million, 45,560-square-foot women and infants center with four caesarean-section rooms, an upgraded 16-bay neonatal intensive care unit, and 29 private inpatient rooms. The center will have its own dedicated entrance .

Also planned is a $441 million pavilion that will include additional private inpatient beds and operating rooms.
