The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has selected architecture firms Leo A Daly (Omaha, Neb.) and Perkins&Will (Chicago) to design a $395 million new surgical and clinical care tower at the Veterans Administration (VA) West Haven Medical Center in West Haven, Conn.

IMEG Corp. (Rock Island, Ill.) will provide MEP services for the project.

The new facility will house a surgical ICU, laboratory, and operating rooms equipped with high-tech, integrated equipment to enable hybrid and robotic procedures.

Surgical services will include cardiothoracic, orthopedic, and urology/cystoscopy procedures.
