The Ben Stelter Proton Facility and Neuroscience Centre of Excellence, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, selected Stantec (Edmonton, Alberta) as the designer for the project.

Expected open the first quarter of 2027, the facility will treat adult and pediatric cancer patients.

The facility will be situated near Alberta Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton, Alberta, and Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta.

It will be owned and operated by WestCan Proton Therapy (Edmonton, Alberta). Additionally, University of Pennsylvania Department of Radiation Oncology (Philadelphia) will provide clinical education, training, and standards to the project.

Highcroft Healthcare Solutions (Coral Springs, Fla.) will manage the financing and development of the project.
