Proton Therapy Center Planned For Kansas
The University of Kansas Health System (Kansas City, Kan.) is planning to open a new proton therapy center for cancer treatment in early 2022 in Kansas City.
The design of the 38,200-square-foot center will include a protective concrete vault to house 160 tons of equipment.
The project team comprises Hoefer Welker (architecture planning and design; Leawood, Kan. ), Stantec (architecture planning and design; Washington, D.C.), McCownGordon Construction (construction; Kansas City), and Linbeck (construction; Fort Worth, Texas).
