Healthcare provider Allina Health (Minneapolis) and Abbott Northwestern Hospital are set to open the Richard M. Schulze Surgical and Critical Care Center in Minneapolis later this year, according to hoodline.com.
The $1 billion, 10-story tower will add 190 private patient rooms and 30 operating rooms (ORs) across 620,000 square feet. Amenities will include a 27,000-square-foot rooftop healing garden.
The new facility is part of a campus revitalization project at Abbott Northwestern Hospital.
HGA (Minneapolis) is serving as architect on the project, with Mortenson (Minneapolis) as construction manager.
