Roper St. Francis Berkeley Hospital To Debut New Patient Tower In Summerville, South Carolina

The 4-story, 94,000-square-foot tower expands the hospital’s ICU, intermediate care, and medical-surgical care.

Roper St. Francis Healthcare Berkeley Hospital in Summerville, S.C., is set to open a new 4-story tower in phases this fall, according to postandcourier.com.

The 94,000-square-foot expansion, which is expected to be fully operational in early 2026, doubles the hospital’s bed count from 50 to 100.

The tower houses six intensive care unit (ICU) beds, a new 16-bed unit to accommodate higher-acuity cardiology and stroke patients, 30-bed medical/surgical unit, and eight-bed emergency department (ED) observation unit.
