Roper St. Francis Healthcare To Relocate Hospital In South Carolina
Roper St. Francis Healthcare (Charleston, S.C.) plans to relocate its Roper Hospital from its original site on the Charleston peninsula, where it’s been located since 1856, to a former city hall building in North Charleston, according to the website postandcourier.com.
The nonprofit organization recently purchased the building for $9.2 million.
The new hospital will be designed with resilient design features to withstand flooding, hurricanes, and earthquakes.
E4H Environments for Health Architecture (Charlotte, N.C.) and Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (New York) will provide master planning, architecture, and design services for the project.
