Select Medical, Carilion Clinic To Build, Operate Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital In Roanoke, Virginia

The new 50-bed hospital will replace an existing 34-bed acute rehabilitation unit at Carilion Roanoke Community Hospital.

Critical illness recovery hospital operator Select Medical (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) and not-for-profit healthcare organization Carilion Clinic (Roanoke, Va.) plan to build and operate a new inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Roanoke, Va., according to a news release.

The 50-bed hospital will replace an existing 34-bed acute rehabilitation unit at Carilion Roanoke Community Hospital, which will close once the project is completed.

The hospital is expected to open in summer 2028.
