Sentara Health (Hampton Roads, Va.) opened Sentara Albemarle Medical Center, a replacement hospital in Elizabeth, N.C., according to a news release.

The $278 million project replaces a 65-year-old hospital owned by Pasquotank County (North Carolina) with a new 90-bed medical center owned and operated by Sentara.

On a 130-acre site, the medical center includes eight new labor and delivery suites, according to whro.org. Each floor of the hospital also has a virtual nursing system which allows nurses conduct patient intakes remotely.
