Sentara Health Opens Replacement Hospital In Elizabeth City, North Carolina

The $278 million project replaces a 65-year-old hospital and includes eight new labor and delivery suites.

Sentara Health (Hampton Roads, Va.) opened Sentara Albemarle Medical Center in Elizabeth City, N.C., according to a news release.

The new 90-bed hospital and adjacent medical office building complete a four-year, $278M campus project to replace a 65-year-old hospital owned by Pasquotank County, N.C., and leased by Sentara. The new hospital is owned and operated by Sentara.

On a 130-acre site, the hospital includes eight new labor and delivery suites, according to whro.org. Each floor of the hospital also has a virtual nursing system.
