Shoalhaven Memorial Hospital in Nowra, Australia, is set to open a new acute services building this fall, according to a news release.

The 7-story facility is the centerpiece of a $315.6 million redevelopment of Shoalhaven Memorial Hospital by the New South Wales (NSW) Government.

The acute services building comprises a new emergency department (ED) and intensive care unit (ICU), dedicated cardiology inpatient unit, and rooftop helipad with direct access to the ED and ICU. The new building also doubles the hospital’s number of operating theaters and endoscopy rooms.

Additionally, the redevelopment project includes renovations to the existing hospital, which are expected to be completed in 2027.
