St. David’s South Austin Medical Center broke ground on a $180 million expansion in Austin, Texas, according to a news release.

The project will develop a new 4-story patient tower with a 30-bed patient care unit, 20-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit, four operating rooms (ORs), a seven-bay post-anesthesia care unit, and eight-bed pre-post surgical unit.

Additionally, the tower will house a sterile processing department, utility powerhouse for electrical and mechanical support, and shell space for future development, including additional ORs.
