SwedishAmerican Hospital (Rockford, Ill.), a division of UW Health (Madison, Wis.), is poised to open its new $55 million women and children’s tower in Rockford, according to an article in Rockford Register Star.

The four-story, 120,000-square-foot project will include 24 private neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) rooms, 14 private labor and delivery rooms, larger delivery rooms, and operating rooms.

The layout houses specialty pediatrics clinics on the first floor, labor and delivery on the second floor, NICU rooms on the third floor, and spaces for mothers and newborn babies on the fourth floor. Infection control measures at the facility will include visitor scrub sinks throughout the facility, including at the entrance.

The project team includes CannonDesign (architect; Chicago) and Ringland-Johnson Construction (general contractor; Boone County, Ill.).
