Tampa General Hospital Completes ED At New Brandon Healthplex

The four-story, 130,000-square-foot facility includes primary and specialty care physician practices, ambulatory surgery, an outpatient laboratory draw station, a retail pharmacy, café, and outpatient surgery center.

Tampa General Hospital (TGH) has completed construction of the new emergency department at Brandon Healthplex in Tampa, Fla. The outpatient medical center that will offer comprehensive services and expands TGH’s presence in the community.

Designed by Gresham, Smith & Partners, the four-story, 130,000-square-foot facility houses an emergency department, which opened in March, as well as primary and specialty care physician practices, ambulatory surgery, an outpatient laboratory draw station, a retail pharmacy, café, and outpatient surgery center. Outpatient images services are planned for 2018.

Select patient rooms in the ambulatory surgery center are equipped with showers to allow patients to stay longer than 24 hours, should the ambulatory surgical center regulations in Florida change. Additionally, there are standardized, same-handed exam rooms.
