UC Davis Health (Sacramento, Calif.) has marked the completion of vertical steel construction on its new California Tower in Sacramento, according to a news release.
The $3.7 billion project comprises a 14-story tower and 5-story pavilion housing 334 inpatient beds, new operating rooms (ORs), an imaging center, pharmacy, and burn care units.
Construction is expected to be completed in 2030 and will add approximately 1 million square feet of space to the campus.
SmithGroup (San Francisco) is the architect and interior designer on the project, with McCarthy Building Companies (San Francisco) serving as general contractor and builder.
