University of California Berkeley (Berkeley, Calif.) is planning the Herbert Wertheim School of Optometry & Vision Science satellite campus in Emeryville, Calif., that will include a new outpatient clinic.

The 38,000-square-foot clinic will offer basic and advanced eye care services and treatment for adults and children, including specialty pediatric eye care clinics, vision therapy and rehabilitation, and a low vision clinic.

The project team includes TEF Design (architecture and interiors; San Francisco), Plant Construction (general contractor; San Francisco), Joint Trench Consultant (urban design consulting engineers; Oakland, Calif.), Stock (sustainability/LEED consultant; San Francisco), Guttmann & Blaevoet (MEP and low-voltage design engineer; San Francisco), Forell Elsesser (structural engineer; San Francisco), BKF (civil engineer; San Francisco), Salter (acoustical consulting; San Francisco); Clearstory (signage/wayfinding; San Francisco), and Cumming (cost estimator; San Francisco).

The project is slated to break ground in May.
