University of Miami Health System (UHealth; Miami) began operations at the Kenneth C. Griffin Cancer Research Building in downtown Miami, according to a news release.
The 12-story, 244,000-square-foot addition opened at UHealth’s Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, doubling the center’s research footprint.
The project houses six floors of laboratories organized into collaborative neighborhoods centered around research themes. Other floors feature a clinic with 27 infusion bays, advanced imaging suites, and pharmacy.
Additionally, the facility offers space for supportive care services such as nutrition counseling, yoga, art and music therapy, and meditation.
