UPMC Presbyterian On Track To Open $1.3B Daniel G. And Carol L. Kamin Tower In 2027

The project, which has been under construction since 2022, will house 635 private patient rooms in a 17-story tower.

University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) Presbyterian hospital in Pittsburgh’s Oakland neighborhood is on track to open the $1.3 billion Daniel G. and Carol L. Kamin Tower in 2027, according to patch.com.

The project started construction in 2022 and comprises a 900,000-square-foot, 17-story patient tower with 635 private patient rooms.

According to UPMC, nearly one-fourth of the rooms will be acuity-adaptable.

Amenities will include rooftop gardens and flexible outdoor spaces to host community events. A 450-space parking lot is also planned.

HGA (Rochester, Minn.) is the design firm on the project.
