Virtua Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital (Camden, N.J.) held a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the start of construction on a $500 million expansion of its campus in Camden, according to a news release from O’Donnell & Naccarato (Mountainside, N.J.), the structural engineer on the project.
The project will include a 6-story, 254,000-square-foot bed tower with 78 private rooms and state-of-the-art surgical suites for organ transplant and acute cardiac and neurosurgical procedures.
A new helipad will also be constructed on the roof of an existing pavilion on the campus as part of the project.
The project team also will include Array Architects (designer and architect; Conshohocken, Pa.), Vivid Project Management (project manager; Haddonfield, N.J.), TLC Engineering Solutions (mechanical engineer; Philadelphia), L.F. Driscoll Company (now part of STO Building Group of New York; general contractor; Bala Cynwyd, Pa.), Taylor Wiseman & Taylor (civil engineer; Mount Laurel, N.J.), and Haley Aldrich (geotechnical engineering consultant; Burlington, Mass.).
