Healthcare system WakeMed (Raleigh, N.C.) is planning to build a health campus focused on whole-person health in Garner, N.C. The campus will be part of a 220-acre mixed-use district focused on innovation and wellness.

The health campus will feature a 150-bed mental health hospital. It will be adjacent to WakeMed’s freestanding emergency department in Garner.

The mental health hospital will be the first facility constructed on the campus.

Construction is expected to begin in 2024 and the facility is slated to open in fall 2026.
