Walgreens Village MD To Exit Florida Market

The retailer’s urgent care and primary care chain announced plans to close clinics in the state by March 15.

Urgent and primary care chain Village MD, majority owned by Walgreens Boots Alliance (Chicago), announced plans to close approximately 40 clinics in Florida and exit the market by March 15, according to the website beckershospitalreview.com.

The move is part of Walgreens’ plan to cut at least $1 billion in costs, according to the article.

The news comes after VillageMD announced in December that it would close 12 clinics in Indiana and leave the market.
