Nonprofit Wellstar Health System (Marietta, Ga.) filed a certificate of need application for a $1 billion 675,000-square-foot hospital in Acworth, Ga., according to a Wellstar press release.
The proposed 230-bed, 8-story Wellstar Kennestone Regional Medical Center at Acworth would include 70 emergency department bays and 8 operating rooms (ORs).
