Nonprofit community health system Wellstar MCG Health (Augusta, Ga.) broke ground on a $272 million Wellstar Columbia County Medical Center, including a 100-bed hospital and 90,000-square-foot adjacent medical office building (MOB), in Augusta.
The full-service acute care hospital will feature an emergency department with a Level II trauma center and a surgical department, which will include operating rooms, cath labs, interventional radiology, and endoscopy.
The MOB will include primary care and women’s health services.
The medical center is expected to open in 2026.
