West Lincoln Memorial Hospital Readies For Opening In Grimsby, Ontario, Canada

Hamilton Health Services – North Shore Health (Hamilton, Ontario, Canada) is set to open the $224 million West Lincoln Memorial Hospital (WLMH) in Grimsby, Ontario, Canada, before the end of the year, according to niagarathisweek.com.

The project replaces a 70-year-old hospital on a nearly 323,000-square-foot neighboring site that will be demolished. The former campus is planned to become green space with walking paths for patients and residents, a children’s play area, public art installation, and more parking.

The new 192,000-square-foot, 4-story hospital house 61 private patient beds, including 55 for inpatient treatment; a four-bed intensive care unit (ICU); and six dedicated maternity beds.

The hospital also features a first-floor emergency department (ED), three operating rooms (ORs), a surgical procedural room for minor treatments, obstetrics and newborn services department, and diagnostic imaging.

Dining spaces, a recreational therapy area, and outdoor terrace are located on the third floor. Other amenities include an Indigenous healing room, spiritual center, public baby-feeding room, café, and gift shop.
