Beijing Aiyuhua Hospital for Children and Women—the first privately owned pediatric hospital in Beijing—provides inpatient and outpatient healthcare services for women and children. Opened in December 2014 to the population of Beijing as well as surrounding provinces and cities, the hospital is located in the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone. It was designed by HKS Inc.

The facility focuses on family-centered care and a holistic service model providing comprehensive healthcare services for children up to 18 years old. Services offered include prenatal care, obstetrics, maternity monthly stay service, pediatrics, and child health management.

Beijing Aiyuhua Hospital for Children and Women collaborated with Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) management in the areas of patient safety, facilities planning, and information technology. The hospital is in the process of receiving accreditation from the Joint Commission International.

Today, staff members from CHOP are providing training in Beijing. The hospital also shared its operational and care standards, allowing Beijing Aiyuhua Hospital to develop its own based on Chinese government licensing and code standards.

While it blends healthcare concepts from the West, the design celebrates the rich history and character of the Chinese culture, with its colorful and vivid exterior and symbolic and meaningful interior design. The hospital was planned for 310 beds, including 230 pediatric inpatient beds, 10 labor and delivery recovery beds, 25 postpartum patient beds, and 45 maternity monthly stay beds.
