The interior design of the oncology center in Istanbul uses warm materials and nature themes to contribute to a sense of calm for patients and families.

Chemothermia Oncology Center in Istanbul, Turkey, turned a former office space into a 10,763-square-foot facility for cancer treatment. The center, which opened in October, was designed by Sonraki Architecture & Design Ltd. and features a contemporary style and patient-friendly environment.

Improving the health and well-being of patients and the staff through the built environment was a focus of the design. To keep patients’ motivation high, the treatment spaces were designed not to resemble a traditional hospital, while staff offices were created with high style and elegant materials. Natural colors and materials in the interior design to help raise patients’ and their companions’ moods as they undergo the long treatment process.
