Quinte Health Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital: Healthcare in the Prince Edward County community has long been tied to the tradition of the place. Creating a hospital that relates to the materials of the place (mass timber similar to the structures of the many agrarian buildings in the landscape) and takes from the culture of the place (indigenous elements and storytelling through the Barn Quilts, as seen on this installation on a large exterior wall) has been described by the community as essential to their sense of belonging in the building.
