At the 2025 PDC Summit in Atlanta, a simple experiment challenged a long-standing assumption in healthcare design. The question: Does the color of operating room flooring affect how easily surgical instruments can be found when dropped?
Two mockups were created, using both light and dark flooring, and participants at the summit were asked their choice. The results were pretty clear.
