Calming rooms in the behavioral health units for Southern Maine Health Care and Maine Behavioral Healthcare at Sanford Medical Center, allow agitated patients a quiet area to self-calm. The spaces include tactile work surfaces, reduced lighting levels, and reduced audio and visual distractions.
