Unicel Architectural’s newest version of its Vision Control integrated louvers comprises a hermetically sealed glass unit with integrated cord-free louvers. The unit also features attack-resistant glazing, adaptable ligature-resistant operators, deep aluminum frames, and specialty glass stops. The unit is American Architectural Manufacturers Association 501.8 certified for human impact resistance in behavioral health applications.

Spec Furniture

Tailor HD from Spec Furniture now offers an optional insert that closes the gap under the seat to reduce the risk of ligature. Available on both standard and bariatric models, the roto-molded inserts attach to the frame of the chair in a tight fit and without any passthrough.

Modular Services Co

SecuRoom Decorative Security Cover by Modular Services Co. conceals and secures medical gas, electrical receptacles, and other services behind an impact-resistant, decorative polycarbonate door. When access becomes necessary, the cover unlocks and hinges downward. While closed, the cover appears as artwork on the wall to promote a soothing, less-clinical environment. Cover artwork can be customized to match a facility’s design scheme.

Blockhouse

The new Enclosed Side Chair from Blockhouse features a fully enclosed Betula birch plywood frame and a ligature-resistant design. The chair includes an extended back rest, closed side panels, and optional steel plates that can be installed in the base of the 50-pound chair.

Visa Lighting

Visa Lighting’s Visage CV1680 recessed linear luminaire for ceiling and wall installation is ligature-, tamper-, and impact-resistant. The unit measures 48-by-5-inches with a recessed depth of 4 inches and can be used in vertical or horizontal orientations. The high-abuse lens and frame feature high-impact clear polycarbonate secured with tamper-resistant fasteners.

Willoughby Industries’ LRBHL-2320 Behavioral Healthcare Lavatory offers a ligature-resistant design. Fashioned from seamless Aquasurf solid-surface material and type 304 stainless steel for durability, the wall-mounted lavatory features a fully enclosed drain trap area, integrated side splashes, and push-button or infrared controls. The unit is available in nine colors.

Leviton

Leviton’s Hospital Grade Tamper-Resistant AFCI/GFCI satisfies a recent requirement of the Joint Commission for tamper-resistant receptacles with arc fault and ground fault interruption to be installed in all patient-accessible areas in behavioral health units. The device offers protection from both electrical fires that could result from arc faults and from electrical shock due to ground faults.

Ryno Club Chair from Pineapple Contracts Inc. is designed for private spaces in behavioral health settings where continuous observation can be particularly challenging. The chair features rotationally molded, durable polyethylene and a one-piece construction that deters misuse and prevents concealment of contraband. A flamed and textured finish further strengthens the fire-retardant, water-resistant, and UV-stabilized shell. Small holes drilled in the seat make it suitable for outdoor use.
