Ochsner Health (New Orleans) held a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the start of construction on The Gayle and Tom Benson Ochsner Children’s Hospital, a new standalone children’s hospital in Jefferson, La., according to a news release.
The 5-story, 343,000-square-foot facility will house a pediatric emergency department (ED), operating rooms (ORs), imaging, and a Level IV surgical neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
The project, announced in December 2023, is slated for completion in early 2028.
