New Louisville VA Medical Center Begins Joint Occupancy Process In Kentucky

The 104-bed, full-service veterans' hospital has entered a coordinated phase to transition from construction to activation, with opening anticipated in early 2026.

The new Louisville Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center, a replacement project, has begun the joint occupancy process, a coordinated phase to transition from construction to activation, in Louisville, Ky., according to dvidshub.net.

The 104-bed, full-service veterans’ hospital is expected to open in early 2026.

Led by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Washington, D.C.), the project team for the joint occupancy process includes a joint venture of Walsh Construction Company (Chicago) and Turner Construction Company (New York) as the general contractor.
