Kaiser Permanente (Oakland, Calif.) has filed permits to build a replacement San Francisco Medical Center in San Francisco’s Anza Vista neighborhood, according to sfyimby.com.
The existing medical campus built in 1954 is being replaced with a 760,900-square-foot facility with 14 floors on a 35-acre site.
Plans for the facility include an emergency department occupying a full floor, ambulance bay, blood bank, and more than 300 inpatient beds. A 12-story parking garage with 1,003 spaces is also planned.
Perkins & Will (San Francisco) is serving as architect on the project, which is expected to be completed by 2033.
