AdventHealth (Altamonte Springs, Fla.) plans to build a new medical campus on a 17.5-acre site in North Port, Fla., according to the Herald-Tribune.

The first phase of the project consists of a 24-bed, 1-story freestanding emergency department (ED).

The second phase would add a 5-story hospital with 120 inpatient beds and a 60,000-square-foot medical office building (MOB). A proposed third phase would double the hospital’s capacity to 240 beds and add a parking garage.

The proposed medical campus would replace AdventHealth Port Charlotte, formerly ShorePoint Health Port Charlotte, a 254-bed hospital that AdventHealth purchased in March, according to the Herald-Tribune.
