Sarasota Memorial Health Care Breaks Ground On New Hospital In North Port, Florida

The $507 million project comprises a 100-bed hospital tower and adjacent 3-story MOB on a 32-acre site.

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System (Sarasota, Fla.) has started construction on a new full-service hospital on a 32-acre site, in North Port, Fla., according to a news release.

The $507 million project comprises a 9-story hospital tower that will open with 100 beds, with three floors of shell space for another 300 beds, and a 3-story medical office building (MOB).

The first floor of the tower will house the emergency department, radiology and imaging, and a cafeteria and coffee bar. The second floor will feature surgical and procedural areas while the third floor is reserved for mechanical space.

Patient care units with private rooms will be located on floors four through six.
