Northwestern Medicine Catherine Gratz Griffin Lake Forest Hospital Opens Two New Patient Pavilions In Illinois

The project adds 290,000 square feet of new space, 96 medical-surgical beds, and 18 observation beds.

Northwestern Medicine Catherine Gratz Griffin Lake Forest Hospital has opened two new patient pavilions on its campus in Lake Forest, Ill., according to a news release.

The expansion nearly doubles the hospital’s patient capacity, adding 96 medical-surgical beds and 18 observation beds. Together, the two pavilions comprise approximately 290,000 square feet of new construction. The project also includes an updated emergency department and additional diagnostic imaging capabilities.

The pavilions’ design integrates with the natural landscape, incorporating native plantings, expanded green spaces, and walking paths.
