Select Specialty Hospital in Richmond, Va., plans to build a new 16-bed medical rehabilitation unit at its existing site, according to richmondbizsense.com.
The $10 million project will build out the 16-bed unit with all private rooms in 6,400 square feet of shell space on the hospital’s third floor. In all, 15,600 square feet of space will be renovated, including an existing gym and nurses’ stations. Once the project is completed, the hospital will have 76 total inpatient beds.
The new unit will treat patients with chronic or critical conditions, including infectious diseases and brain injuries.
No construction timeline has been announced.
