The University of South Carolina (USC; Columbia, S.C.) has opened the new Brain Health Center on its Health Sciences Campus in Columbia, according to a news release.

The project renovated a 65,000-square-foot facility to deliver diagnostic, treatment, and support services for patients with cognitive conditions, including Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.

The facility brings together clinical services, advanced imaging, infusion therapy, rehabilitation, and research in one location. The Brain Health Center houses 16 exam rooms, a neurology clinic, eight-bay infusion suite, and spaces dedicated to physical, occupational, and speech therapy.

Quackenbush Architects + Planners (Columbia, S.C.) and Perkins&Will (Charlotte, N.C.) partnered to design the facility, with Hood Construction Company (Columbia, S.C.) as the general contractor. RMF Engineering (Baltimore) provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering services.
